Lamar Jackson / Patrick Mahomes
I know, this isn't an actual matchup... but who doesn't want to see which elite QB comes out on top? We've got 2x MVPL-Freaky going up against 3x Super Bowl champion Patrick Mojón Mahomes. In 2023, both QBs had a similar QB rating and a 67.2 completion percentage. Mahomes started his 2024 highlight reel early with a behind the back throw to Kelce for a first down in a pre-season game. Dope play, would love to see him try that shit with the Ravens 😈. Lamar’s style brings a level of unpredictability that even the best defenses struggle to contain. The Chiefs will have their hands full trying to slow him down, especially after an off-season of slimming down & endurance training. As long as the offensive line isn't selling, I can see Lamar getting into his rhythm early.
Kyle Hamilton / Travis Kelce
This is the matchup I'm most excited about. Neither of these men need an introduction. All-Pros. Dawgs. The play everyone remembers is the redzone touchdown in the 2023 AFC Championship Game. Tight coverage from Hamilton, amazing catch by Kelce. With that being said, I've got a feeling the swifties are gonna hate #14 once the game is over.
Zay Flowers / Trent McDuffle
I originally had Humphrey / Hollywood (injured) matched up, but this one should be just as good. Flowers had 77 receptions, 858 yards, and 5 touchdowns his rookie season last year. With a huge fumble late in the AFC Championship Game, Flowers definitely has a chip on his shoulder and wants to run it back. McDuffle had a strong year and was locking receivers down left and right. It will be exciting to see how he contains Flowers when it's joystick time.
